1. General Principle

Each booking component (lodge, hotel, transfer, activity) offered through Plume Africa is governed by the Supplier's own cancellation policy. These policies are clearly presented during the booking process.

2. Refund Schedule

Refunds for confirmed packages are calculated on the total booking value (excluding the non-refundable administration fee) using the schedule below. The number of days is counted from the written cancellation request to the trip start date.

This policy applies uniformly to multi-service tours so that every component of the trip follows the same refund percentage.

3. Administration Fee

In addition to the applicable Supplier penalties, a non-refundable administration fee of R500 (five hundred South African Rand) is charged per booking file to cover coordination and transaction costs.

4. Force Majeure and Supplier Cancellations

If a Supplier cancels or travel becomes impossible due to force majeure (pandemic, natural disaster, etc.), Plume Africa will liaise with Suppliers to seek fair remedies such as rebooking, travel credit, or partial refund according to Supplier recovery.

However, Plume Africa cannot refund more than what is recoverable from Suppliers.

5. Refund Process

• Refunds (if applicable) are issued in ZAR (South African Rand) to the original payment method.
• Bank and gateway fees are non-refundable.
• Processing time: up to 14 business days after Supplier confirmation.

6. No-Show and Early Departure

No refund will be made for no-shows, unused services, or early departures once travel has started.

7. Legal Framework

This policy is compliant with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

No automatic "cooling-off" period applies unless the transaction qualifies as direct marketing, in which case the client may cancel within 5 business days.
