Meet Our Founder, Paul
Hi, I'm Paul! I lived in Southern Africa for over a decade and worked extensively in the travel industry as a field guide and a travel consultant. I advised customers and designed bespoke tours, as well as accompanied international groups (primarily french-speaking) during their trips, with a particular specialization in hiking and camping tours.
I recognized a gap in the market for a service that combines the convenience of modern booking technology with the irreplaceable value of expert-guided experiences.
Luckily, I was also trained as an engineer, and I found the perfect opportunity to bridge my passions for tech and travel. My deep understanding of the technical aspects of online bookings, and first-hand experience of the intricacies of African safaris and travels led to the creation of Plume - a platform that makes booking your dream safari as light as a feather. A few clicks will ensure you get the most authentic and enriching experience possible. I personally spent hours checking package details, from timings to vehicles to experiences and lodges, making extra arrangements locally when necessary, not to mention the hours in coding this platform.
Now, you can book an entire safari or a full circuit yourself, without needing to juggle with dozens of bookings. Plume blends live booking tech with offline local arrangements, to offer instantly confirmed, comprehensive trips that you can get on your own at 3am if you wish. I feel privileged that life gave me the opportunity to experience the wonders of Namibia and South Africa, and start my beautiful family here! That is why I try my best to share it, and make the magic of African safaris accessible to all.
